Very nice White Rhone blend. Fleshy and herbaceous, with hints of white flowers. Yellow stone fruits with some melon, garrigue, there is a mineral stoniness. Just a touch of spun sugar on the finish, which to me suggests this isn't for the long haul. Lovely balance and length, goes will with Salmon and Pork.
Straw yellow color. Nose of lemon, grapefruit, and mineral. Palate is less fruit, more mineral, hazelnut, and a bit of barnyard. Oily texture as expected from the Rousanne and Grenache Blanc. Very interesting. Food wine, not a sipper.

Don't understand the lower ratings on this wine, unless it's because (a) a poorly stored bottle, (b) the wine wasn't ready yet or (c) the taster is used to fruity California Chardonnays or something similar. In fact, we tried this next to a $42 Carneros Chardonnay, and the Cigare Blanc was vastly superior, even to those who drink Chardonnay almost exclusively. This Rhône blend resembles its French cousins nicely, altho with less acid and minerality but more fruit. Good with food.
