Hints of plum and raisin on the nose, followed by notes of plum and strawberry on the palate. Still very fruity at this age but pretty smooth and well balanced. Decanted well, and continued to open up over time.

This is my second taste of wine by this producer. This is some really inspired wine for the price. There is a nice combination of of "Old World" earthiness and California ripeness. There is as much flavor and aroma concentration as any Wine I have ever tasted in this price range. Deep purple color. The nose has a vast array of the type of aromas we expect in top shelf Cabernet like black tea, wet leather, mushroom, lead pencil, and gun metal backing up some subdued black cherry, blackberry, mulberry and some red fruit. Full bodied. Still very young and developing in the bottle. The oak program is 42% new French, but also a noticeable 17% new American oak. Made in an austere style, this wine may be able to age for 20 more years.

PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs -deep dark opaque red -intense cassis jam framed in a bit of oak -nice med acidity gives it freshness, barely medium weight and concentration, cassis and dark berry mid-palate, moderately long finish with some med+ tannins and oak spice -far from a cab expert but this is a nice little wine that is not afflicted by over the top ripeness/alcohol/weight, just (relatively) unadorned cab fruit, should improve with 2-3 years to resolve the tannins and the slightly more than ideal wood influence, WIN

this is the best cabernet for under $20. the taste contains a strong fruit influence and the tannins are subtle and well structured.
