Bought on a whim to try. I think this is Grenache Gris vinified as a red wine. Pale color and some herby, strawberry aromatics. The palate is pretty lackluster. I don't think this was meant to age.

I am not a Grenache fan generally, but there is a lot to like about this wine. It has a distinctive strawberry jam flavor profile, with some spice notes on the nose and a bit of tar and smoke. Chewy and full bodied, a bit grapey and a little hot. Better now than my last bottle several years ago, ripe but balanced.

100+ yr old vines from the legendary Gibson Ranch and really old world Grenache flavors, light, great acid, ripe cranberry, pencil lead, tart cherry and way longer finish than expected. Totally and completely disagree with the comments stating this is not enjoyable. Yes it’s quite different from most Bedrock wines. But ok that’s ok not a problem or a fault in any way. This has settled into a terrific food friendly place right now. Damn glad I cellared a few bottles for a few years to enjoy now. Cheers.
