Beautiful nose with a generous but slightly oaky on the finish. A great wine that was the wine of the evening until we opened a 2009 Hewitt which was truly magnificent. I got blackberry, density, and spices on the finish. My lone bottle.

Decanted 2 hrs drank over 2 more. It still took a little time to open but when it did it was very enjoyable. Good primary fruit, muted soil and loamy flavors. Ok depth and concentration, but nothing to wow a crowd. Still a great wine from a great place.
Might seek more out in excellent years, but prefer other Howell moutain producers that are in the same price range.
This still has another 5+ years id well stored, but not the 10+ that I thought a couple years ago.

Decanted..poured through an aerator and then let sit for an hour in the decanter at cellar temp.....drank over the next 4 hours. This wine is still an infant....alcohol and tannins are at the forefront. Even after four hours, this wine still showed plenty of tannin, but the alcohol did calm down. Fruit definitely emerged with about an hour after it was poured with cassis and blackberry at the forefront. Also showed some slight earth notes and bitter chocolate. This wine will likely be much better in a few years, but I tfear it is still at least 5 years from showing its true potential. 92 at hour 4....should improve a couple points or more with more time in the cellar. Would recommend an overnight decant if drinking soon.

blackberries, baked plum, tobacco, olive, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and dried herbs.
Nice mouthfeel that’s lush but not overbearing, acidity is there and a nice lift of red berries on the back palate.
I seek this table out every year at TOHM. Solid stuff
