Very potting soil on the nose. Very Saumur. Behind that is some cranberry and pomegranate. Eventually a note of menthol. The palate shows a bit more light and red than a typical Saumur. Like it has a toe in Bourgueil. Plenty of tightly grained tannin still and generous acidity. Mostly dark fruited and focused. It really gets harmonious on the second night. The nose is more aromatic and relaxed. That tannin and acid combo really makes the palate dance even without a lot of fruit complexity. Pretty terrific. The tannin is a touch astringent. Maybe a couple more years will clean that up. Open to go now. A nice find and another bargain from the Loire.

Lovely red-fruited wine with herbal notes and faint bitterness in the tannins. Medium-bodied with good length. Really shows off the typical profile of Saumur cab franc, as opposed to Chinon and Bourgueil, and compares well to similarly priced offerings such as Hureau's Tuffe.

Mores structured and textured cab franc than the regular saumur. Text book bell peppers with violets and blackberries.

Garnet medium body. Classic Loire cab franc nose of green pepper. Palate is peppery, savory, floral finish. You have to love this stuff and I do!
