shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of another week of SIP (Stay in Place/Sip In Place) due to covid-19. we do not drink a lot of syrah but i was impressed with this wine at the point of purchase in 2016. tonite, we paired the wine with Omaha filet mignon. the wine showed well on its own and also stood up well to the food. LSMFT. round, firm and fully packed. generous dark fruit on the nose and the palate. some earhiness. perfectly balanced. most enjoyable now but can probably hold well for at least another year. fine sediment adheres to the bottle and some lands in the glass. suggest decanting to avoid this. overall, the wine is a winner. wish i had purchased more.

Drinking perfectly right now. Still a little bit of residual alcohol left on this, but not even close to over powering the chocolate tones of this delicious wine

The bottle aging has softened this wine. Last tasted in 2014. It has now lost the tannic bite and the flavors have integrated really well - by that I mean that no one flavor characteristic is dominant, they all play well together! I can't recall if this was the first year Anthony Yount was the winemaker for Denner, or if it was the year before he became winemaker. Doesn't matter! It was very enjoyable!

Real soft mouthfeel compared to other syrah's I have had of late. Round fruit including fig and prune. Tobacco leaf mid palette with more of that and some vanilla on this finish.

Excellent showing! Harmoniously integrated, ripe, savory black fruits. Juicy tannins, present but lovely. Win, win, win.
