  • Big n fruity. More CA than Rhone. Not surprising.

  • A good wine but a little out of balance for my tastes with he acidity overwhelming the other flavors. You can sense a better wine down under there but it just can't seem to find its way to the surface. I keep hoping it will pull together with a little time in the glass but after an hour it isn't happening. Certainly an unusual blend for Calif. so maybe that is the curve ball. the nose has graphite, black cherry and spice. I get cranberry, and menthol on the palate with a tannic/alcoholic finish. It does seem to be mellowing a bit after about 90 minutes so maybe some decanter time would be advisable.

  • In a very pleasant evolutionary phase. The fruit is well integrated with steely iodine and blood. Good acidic lift. This has many old world characteristics, yet it does not have an old world feel, due in part but not entirely to perceptible alcohol. I like this wine for its singularity.

  • Big, big bold flavor profile. I got tons of graphite with double ink soaked blueberries, whatever that means. The nose was pleasant enough and had the aromas of mourvedre. There are definitive tannins plus acid levels that I am curious to see where this goes. Right now, it is disjointed, but there are some interesting elements here, if they blend well over time ,could become a 90+. I would wait another 2-3 years before opening another.
