  • Aging beautifully! Delicious berry, forest floor, and floral notes on the nose and palate with wonderful acidity on the long savory finish.

  • Zuni Cafe Chicken Night (Brad's Place, St. Paul, MN): Medium plus red color. Decanted for about an hour. Drank a glass plus over 90 minutes plus. I found this quite delightful and preferred it to the Corcelette which was also very good. A fun comparison for sure. The Py is has this juicy red berry fruit with strawberry and raspberry saturating the palate with little by of citrus infusion, medium bodied and long with earthy undertones and an interesting almond pastry note on the nose. 93+pts.

  • Brad's Winner Winner Zuni chicken dinner night. BB,KB,ML & I. Thanks Brad! My btl. First thing I smelled was dill pickles & it never dissipated in my glass. Others didn't seem to notice. No, I didn't have a Burger for lunch. Palate was more appealing than the nose! Red fruit, earth & spice on the palate. 13% alc 85pts Nose / 91pts palate. Average...89pts. My least fav wine of the night.

  • Neighbourhood friends late night at home. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance slightly murky, purplish ruby colour. Legs.
Nose not clean, with aromas of lightly fermenting vegetal funk, Ling Yang, Chinese medicine herbs, dark red cherries, violet flowers. Developed.
On the palate, dry, softened high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), low tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of Chinese medicine herbs, Ling Yang, fermenting veggies, violet juice, raspberries & tart strawberries, dark red cherries, spices, minerals. Long finish.
Very good quality. Funky without being overly so. Rather complex. I think this vintage has arrived at its peak already. Drink up and enjoy before fruit declines in probably 2+ years' time.

  • I often wonder if I'm overrating these based on the QPR and general drinkability. Then I have another bottle and want to rate it even higher. This vintage is particularly good. Charming nose- initiallly very cherry, but showed more plummy notes after 45 or so minutes of air. Similar character on the palate, with sone hints of garrigue and, maybe?, vanilla. Not the most complex or layered, but that's not to say that this is one dimensional either. Paired great with Chinese, as always. 93+
