PnP. This 40% abv spirit is initially matured for 12 years in ex-bourbon casks, then split equally between 3 different sherry casks -- Amoroso, Apostoles and Matusalem oloroso -- for 3 more years. Finally, the spirit is united in an upstanding sherry butt to allow the flavors to blend. Definite sherry aromas along with caramel, raisins and some cinnamon. These all follow on to the palate with some mandarin orange and oak (vanilla) influences. The finish shows more orange and some dark chocolate. A wonderful Highlands scotch that is welcomed by this Bourbon drinker.

NOSE: smoke, peat, earthy hearth, herbaceous, and marzipan, chocolate, caramel after cooling off. PALETTE: Sherry Bomb deliciousness!, candied cherries, oak, vanilla extract, some zesty orange, thick oaky mouthfeel (I LOVE IT), coffee grinds, and fruit cake. FINISH: cedar campfire lingers in the mouth (cedar plank, smoke, and peat), feels like a spritz of creamsicle flushes the thick mouthfeel down the pipes, cinnamon, fig, plum. Very very good and smooth! 9/10

From liter bottle. 40%. With Elmar and Darryl. The whisky was medium copper/orange in colour (non-natural) and offered a hint of orange rind, raisins, exotic spices, roasted almond, caramel, leather, oak, cinnamon, some vanilla and some sherry on the nose. On the palate, the wine showed orange rind, raisins, spices, caramel, oloroso sherry, oak and some vanilla, with warming alcohol and average length. The medium-bodied, medium complex, reasonably balanced whisky was creamy at the sides of the palate, but left a slightly drying impression if you rolled it over the tongue. A good whisky; Cognac-like in some respects. Body 4/10, Smoke 1.5/10, Sweetness 3.5/10.

Toffee apples, caramel, citrus and hint of spice and vanilla. Sweet smooth finish to rounds things off.
