  • Pale golden yellow color with a slightest hint of something green. Sweet, rich and almost honeyed nose with aromas of dried peach, overripe pineapple, some spice, a little waxy character and faint green streak of asparagus. Rich, very full-bodied and intensely sweet on the palate, yet with racy acidity keeping it all fresh and vibrant. Overall the wine tastes like honey that has been diluted with lemon juice, but there are also lighter nuances of sweeter citrus fruits, some tart green apple character and hints of very sweet, dried peach. The finish is sweet but really crisp and sharp with rich, vibrant flavors of lemon juice, ripe citrus fruits, green apples, some apple peel bitterness and a hint of beeswax. The aftertaste is quite persistent and very refreshing compared to the sweetness of the wine (170 g/l RS).

Still going very strong! There is very little any tertiary characteristics, so I can imagine the wine is still going up and well be going for many years. Not the most complex effort, but at only 12,89€ for a 375 ml bottle this wine shows tremendous value. Tasty and delicious.

  • Tangerine, banana and pineapple on the nose with slight greener fruit as well, honey, waffle, bready richness and a touch of lavendel.
Medium bodied, sweet and fruity on the palate with balancing acidity and some nice bitter character on the mid-palate. Straightforward drier finish.
Easy and quite simple sugary stuff, but still pretty delicious.

  • Clear yellow and quite deep color with some green tints. Not as deep color when compared to many other dessert wines, even despite the age of this wine. Very full and expressive nose of ripe pineapple, beeswax and sweet floral notes. Very sweet and fullbodied on the palate with elements of sweet citrus, tangerine, pineapple, honey and canned peaches, highlighted with hints of nutmeg and vanillin spice. The texture is oily, but decent acidity keeps the wine fresh. There is quite much RS (170 g/l) for an Auslese, but in balance with the acidity; the wine doesn't come across flabby or cloying. The finish is a balanced combination of intensive sweetness and crisp tartness. Acidity comes across more intensive in the finish than it came in the mid-palate. Amidst all the sweet notes of pineapple and honey comes a bitter element of wood or nuts. Overall finish is quite short or mid-length, but this bitter hint persists on the tongue along with intense acidity.

In the end nothing that special, but very good everyday Auslese from the sweeter end of the spectrum with all elements in balance and in proportion. A great purchase at 12,89€, outshining many dessert wines in the same price range. Worth checking out.
