Library release. An enjoyable, fully mature zin that shows aromas of blackberry, mixed dark fruit, chocolate, earth and a hint of oak. The flavors feature blackberry, black cherry, cedar, black pepper and smoke. Medium+ acidity and tannins - drinking well now, I don't see this improving with additional age but structurally it should continue to drink well through its 10th birthday.

It seems that this is my go to wine for Thanksgiving. As I went to enter the note today I noticed I drank it last Thanksgiving too. I think that the wine has evolved nicely over the last year. Dark red in color - with cherries and raspberries on the nose. The palate showed some pepper and earth notes. The tannins are in a good place - very lush mouthfeel. It ended with hints of menthol and the raspberries again. It went well with the Habanero smoked turkey breast, green beans and mashed potatoes.

Translucent ruby, brambly fruit and graham cracker nose, tar and blackberry palate, lush texture and solid tannins, medium to long finish with some menthol.

I really like Eric's Zins. They are more restrained and not "gobs of fruit". Instead, they are delicious wines that express the grape and go well at the dinner table. Lots of raspberries, some earth, bits of pepper. Juicy texture. Nice balance.

Cherries, some raspberries on the nose - the taste evolved in the glass over the evening. - Not too overpowering - no greenish notes. Tannins are present, but soft - a nice wine with Thanksgiving dinner - nice Zin for the price.
