  Balanced wine showing restraint in ripeness, but overall is was just "good". Blackberry, cherry, slate and chocolate shavings. Nice palate feel, but lacking the "extras" of similarly priced Bordeaux blends.

  Following my note from 2016, either the wine is a bit on the downslope, my palate is different or both:) still a fine wine, but not a 94 at this point.

  Dark garnet color in the glass, fairly clear looking. Nose of spice, pepper, violets and Ricola. Rich flavors of black berries and black raspberries. Medium acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink or hold.

  Soft, mineral, at peak. Not memorable or special. Dark fruit. Limited finish.
