Deep reddish-brown, translucent, minimal sediment. Nose is bright and spicy - cloves, violets, tea. Quite balanced, predominant impression of fruit with acid and tannin well behind. Out of the bottle dark cherry, cola, baking spices, good length. Quite drinkable right out of the bottle.
After 4h of decanting it has developed a little. It's on the fruit-forward end for Pauillacs, lively and delicious. The finish is beginning to show interesting notes of coffee and chocolate and the signature Pauillac "funk" is on display. Rich, fresh and well crafted, a real pleasure to drink.

Very much like an incarnation of the ’96, this has a higher percentage of Cab Sauv than the ’09 and is a very different wine. It has crisp acids and tons of energy but also great underlying fruit and very refined tannins. Totally more precision than the ’09 but not as layered and supple. To me, the ’10 has everything and isn’t ready yet and will ultimately pass the ’96 in quality. 95+ Commanderie dinner, The Modern

Slightly garnet at the rim. Incredible nose with layers of blackcurrant, fine spices and cedar. Showing some development via tobacco and leather notes. Exceptional palate. Beautiful structure. Fresh and delicious with huge persistence on the finish. Starting to enter its drinking window but will only get better with more years in the cellar.

2010 Was a Good Vintage in France (Jordan's Place - Chicago IL): Open 6 hours, not decanted. Still firm but tasty, not as exciting as Baron.

Dark ruby. M+ intensity of aroma, developing with cedar, vegatal and menthol notes, black fruit, vanilla, red blossoms, hints of chocolate, and spices
Pronounced intensity of flavor, full body, tremendously complex but still balanced, and just lasts and lasts.
I had a shitty day at work and I don't mind the email I'm writing at 9pm. That's how good this wine is.
Still, I hope to wait a year before I drink another. Drink or hold.
