Not decanted. Wonderful bouquet of mature, tropical fruit flavors. The palate brings lemongrass, apple, and kirsch. There's still a core of medium acidity running through the wine, which helps balance the medium-plus finish. Well-made, but definitely best to drink over the next few years.

Three Bordeaux 1985s (Friends' House, Hong Kong): Light straw-gold colour that looks brightly fresh. Nose is light, lifted, fresh-peeled young hazelnuts, canteloupe melon that is not fully ripe and then raw lemon skins on the back end. Palate is immediately gorgeous - fresh, bright hazelnutty and melon acidity followed by greater richer depth of ripe but still light melon. Very rounded and mellow in the mouth with minimal oak. That said, with extended time in the glass it does get headier, oakier and with growing reverberance inside the head on the finish. A lovely wine. 90+

Wonderful; mellow fruit, honeysuckle nose, and moderate acidity
