Still shows fruit, at peak or just past !! The cork was in near perfect after over a decade in the bottle, easily removed. Dark purple color with medium clarity. Consumed over two days, still a powerful wine. Aromas of raspberry and garrigue. Flavors of black cherry, plum, and white pepper with a medium to long peppery finish. The Côtes du Rhône La Devèze is a blend of 50% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 10% Carignan and 5% Cinsault that are all over 30 year old. This Côtes du Rhône is medium to full bodied and fairly well balanced. Winemaker Andre Farjon has 50 hectares of vines that he started farming biodynamically in 2008 and are now certified organic. The grapes are sourced from clay and limestone slopes around the town of Uchaux, as well as the gravel and clay soils on the flatter areas around Cairanne, giving Farjon a range of terroirs with which to work. A fairly inexpensive wine that has cellared well. My last bottle of the vintage, well aged, and delicious.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. This wine will improve through 2016.

Cherry, with peppery flavors. Still has some tannin and should continue to age.
