Deep garnet color; medium intensity in smell- smells great; aromas of black fruit and pepper; dry; low to medium acidity; no bitterness; flavors of cherry, blackberry; light tannins; medium body. This is a very smooth, pleasant drinking wine. Enjoyed without food. Solid QPR. ONE HOUR UPDATE: Came back to my glass after a one hour walk with my daughter- Wow, definitely recommend decanting this. Wine developed a deep, warm, earthy taste. Now has a woody, barnyard aroma. Flavors have melded and deepened, finish is now long. Cherry flavor is very pronounced. Would now describe as medium/full body. Upped the rating two points.

While I believe this may have been cooked as there were leaks from the cork, this was actually somewhat ok. Nose: raisiny which confirms my cooked thesis. But the taste (confirmed by others) was actually nothing like the nose. A bit of spiciness with sweetness. The 15.2% alcohol makes it seem almost port like but taste does not necessarily reflect the alcohol %.

Great aroma. Great fruit. Cherries, menthol, bit of mustiness that dissipated as the wine opened up. Really nice mouth feel, mild tannins. 15% alcohol but I won't say it tastes hot. Would buy more.
