Lighter and more cranberry than the last bottle. None of the dried fruit. Some licorice on the palate, with herbs and sauvage. Pretty resolved. Good without being great.

Nose is a little ripe and pruney to start. Palate similar. After about 30 mins, this slowly evolves to a lighter, more balanced wine with a lovely violet note on the finish. Some gamey meatiness adds to the body in what is a rather delicious wine.

This was one of the stouter bottles, and too young. I thought corked on day one but clearly not - came together on day two with a really nice, put together old school northern southern Rhone feel. I am pretty certain I have bottles from two foudres, one that needs drinking now and one that needs to hold. Hmmm....

Bursting with lovely raspberriness. Very mid-toned and none the worse for it. Good, solid Villages without being that exciting.
