Cork Crumbled on opening. It had been bought from a cellar. Anyways, poured it - red brick colour. Decanted for an hour and the smell was of dark currant fruit. First taste had fortified themes, that gave way as it moved through the palate. It was elegant and still had those wisps of promise that better cellaring conditions could have given it. Long finish but maybe just past its excellent best.I was not expecting a great result after the cork crumbled. Its class shone through. Great drop.
