Esporão Tasting (Proof - DC): Aromas: more currant, darker fruit, with anise and pepper notes. I love the balance on the palate, dusty tannins and fresh acidity, plus you get all this juicy red berry fruit and some sweet, herbal, spice flavors. Delicious and absurdly friendly with food. Open six bottles of this at a party and see how fast it goes. Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca.

From the Douro, this classic blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca offers up earthy, and slightly rustic with aromas of dusty earth, plums, black cherries, aged leather, and cocoa powder. Grippy tannins are the predominant feature, reigning in black fruit. The finish is long, ushered in by noticeable acidity that takes hold once the tannins have subsided, creating a lingering sensation of greenness, cedar, dried herbs, green peppercorn. 14.0% ABV

Stewy plums on the nose. The palate offers up something similar but with a savoury, peppery, herbaceous finish. Soft, medium body, decent balance. Quite nice but not going mad about it.
