Poured blind in a flight of four Chardonnays. Not decanted. Very aromatic with sea breeze over not-quite-ripened stone fruit. The palate was juicy and concentrated, with a pineapple-tinge to the stone fruit flavors. Rich enough but not heavy, and not so austere as to be too hard to enjoy either. Really a nice wine that was slightly edged out by a 2014 Eyrie Estate Chard (OR).

Pretty fascinating wine. Never tasted an aged Chardonnay and it was a nose and taste profile unlike I’ve experienced before. Really solid wine. Glad we waited.

I love well aged Chard! Could pass for a high end white burgundy. Medium gold color. Massive butter and cream throughout the nose and palate. Modest lemon elements as well. Long finish! Just bought some of the ‘17.

Worth the wait. 10 years in its absolutely on fire. Lemon curd, peach, hazelnuts.
