  • There’s a good backbone of acidity to this wine, more so than many of TRB’s cabs, which made it a great companion to food. Red and black fruits, fine but slightly gritty tannins, and a clean finish. This is drinking well now and in no danger of going past peak anytime soon.

  • 3 1/2 years since my last bottle. Wine had neither improved or declined. There is a certain tartness on this that is not my favorite and also not what I am used to from this vineyard. However this is a still a well made and balanced wine.

  • Fantastic bottle of ripe, full bodied and balanced Cali cab. PNP and drank with dinner and the wine was on from the get-go. Only realized now I have a bunch of the 2010-2012 that probably should have been drunk first

  • My experience contrasts with that of GHARTER, which could have been due to my mood or bottle variation. So many variables! I was struck by how bright and tart this was. And this was after 2 hours in the opened bottle and a one hour decant. Normally tart is not my preference in a wine (and it held the score back a skoosh), but this was offset by a slight sweetness and a youthful, but evolved, essence.
There was a lot, a LOT, of sediment, like a debris field. Nice complexity, structure and bright fruit.
All in all, this was a joy to drink. Went well with a fish sandwich.
Can go for years but, as said GHARTER, will the fruit hold up?

  • Needed a good decant to show well. Black and blue fruits, vanilla, anise, spice, tobacco aromas. Lots of flavor with black and blueberry fruit, current , tobacco, anise and earth. Still has harsh tannins in the finish. Not sure if the fruit will outlive the tannins.
Have loved many TRB wines, but this is one of my 2 least favorites that he does. Glad I dropped it for those who enjoy it more than I do.
