Burgundy-Report

(Lambrays Clos des Lambrays) Medium, medium-plus cherry-red colour, edged with purple. High-toned, and initially slightly diffuse and alcoholic but the aromas show a great depth of brooding fruit. Absolutely mouth-filling and complex. Very. very long with a mineral vein - superbly long - fantastic.

(Lambrays Clos des Lambrays) The nose needs a little coaxing, but soon shows reasonable width, but a stunning fruit depth and the faintest creme brulée. Silken and soft in the mouth, yet powerful - that tannin is buried and the balance is a wonder. It bursts across the mid-palate before slowling lingering in the finish. A 'wow' wine. Of-course, also sold-out at the domaine!

(LAMBRAYS Clos de Lambrays) 2005 Clos de Lambrays Dear Friends, This wine is suddenly so hot it’s like a freight train out of control - a few weeks ago it was $99, then $109, then $119, then $129 and now it’s up to $159-179 with no end in sight (I wrote this offer in the middle of the night, last night, and since then I’ve been offered a parcel for $180 wholesale - probably from today’s WS95, so my suspicions are accurate). It reminds me of the 2005 Clos de Tart when it caught fire last spring. Two mid 90’s reviews in one week certainly have not hurt (finished bottle scores) .... ” This is not a pre-arrival and these are not via the grey market - the bottles are here, have been inspected and are in pristine condition. ONE SHIPMENT ONLY with perfect provenance 2005 Domaine de Lambrays “Clos de Lambrays” Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Burg6810

(Lambrays Clos des Lambrays) Understated aromatics that are fin and complex with a faint creamy undertow. Ripe, sweet and complex. The tannin carries a little grain, but it’s hardly very forward. Super length - a wine to spend an evening with!
