Solid on night one. More complex on night 2. This wine for me is settling in nicely and in a good window. A bit of an old world and new world mix. Not overly extracted

First Wednesday Wine Club (Napoli in Bocca, Haberfield): Served blind. Sour initially, slightly meaty, herbaceous with wood glue and ripe red currant. On the palate huge, monstrous tannins close down the palate, juicy acidity (or is that alcohol making my mouth water?) the fruit plays second fiddle ot the oak, bit of a beast, plenty of time required. I guessed Yankee meritage from someone trying a little too hard...thought it was probably about 2011

This is a great wine. Ready to go, with a 30 min decant. Wish I had more!
