First time trying this producer and he really over-achieved in this poor vintage. Very impressive concentration and weight for its level, most guessed that it was a Chenin based on a slight honey note and a waxy, woolly texture. Fantastic value for S$55. Lost its freshness on the second day.

100% Chardonnay from vines planted in 1950 and 1968 and farmed by lutte raisonnée. Manual harvest; primary and malolactic fermentation in tank (no new oak) with indigenous yeasts. Aged 18 months on lees in tanks and/or neutral oak. 13% Abv Winemaker: Jean-Claude Bessin
A(ccuracy)=2: Bright light lemon/gold. Nicely yeasty varietal. B(alance)=3: Distinctive components with firm acid structure. C(omplexity)=2: Peach, apple, citrus, mineral. D(epth)=1: Supple mouthfeel. Average length and finish.
Wine Tally Score [2,3,2,1] = 8/10
Excellent village level in difficult vintage.

Good value might be worth another few years in bottle.
