On the nose, stable, leather and after an intensive search some bakelite and smoke might be found. On the palate, a structured mouth feel containing red fruit in harmony with the well integrated tannins.
Medium + finish
The first Pinotage that I have had that has been so well structured. 89-90

Bordering on 90.. Perhaps because its a known pinotage note, I did pick up a both a slight whiff of banana and a somewhat burnt aftertaste. Plenty of fruit to balence the spicyness. Paired with moose, worked well. Wish I had another bottle.

Much improved out of the bottle vs a year ago. Still very fresh and vibrant but also fully integrated - lovely. I continue to think quality Pinotage needs significant time to fully develop.

My second bottle. Generous nose with herbs, ripe banana and plums. Taste is correct, slightly heady with soft fruit and smooth acid. Lots of banana and leather. My friends were very impressed by the wine. So was I. They say you can't make good pinotage. I say you can!

An excellent alternative to any overpriced bordeaux in the pricerange of 20-40 euros. Seems mature, tastes a lot of fruit (but not too much) and is well balanced but I would not say it is elegant. Solid, but not spectacular. Gave the bottle 4-5 hours of air.
