(Domaine Le Galantin Bandol) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-a distinct cherry & leather; subtle barnyard; rounded w/ nice dark blueberries; TASTE-really, really good; Wow--serious thunder; one of the most impressive mouthfeel on the initial attack; so much weight on the palate; very powerful & luscious; very dark tight tannins; blackberries coming through; Bacon fat on the mid-palate transition flavor going to the silky smooth finish w/ some rough edges at the end (because of it's youth); extremely solid; a Screaming Steal; RE-TASTE: initial spritzy component that I missed; NM-90; GV-92

Drank this a few nights ago - fun - the nose is off the charts barn yard, horses only - deep and works so well with the fruit - it’s the star of this wine. Although Mourvèdre is a highly tannic grape this wine is oddly light in tannins - great acidity though. Still youthful and has plenty of life ahead.

Magnum purchased at the estate.
Absolutely beautiful mature Bandol that's drinking really well now but in no danger of dropping off anytime soon.
Great aromatic intensity, sufficient tannins to hold it all together year produce a smooth finish. Even better balance than the 2007, which seems riper.

Nice band-aid flavor and aroma, which blew off after a few minutes. This smoothed out nicely.

Amazing how this just keeps getting better and the original price makes for incredible QPR. Wish I had waited longer on bottles I consumed years ago!
