I think this wine is probably a couple of years post peak (lots of sediment) . From the bottle it is somewhat musky. Decanting for a couple of hours dissipates that. After that it's a pleasant, but undistinguished wine.

A very dark pour, dense dark violet color, no bricking. Rich, full aromas of dark fruit, and a bit of a gamey aroma, not off-putting. Later after some time through the Vinturi and in the decanter for a couple of hours, some additional light alcohol on the nose. Time in the decanter helped open this up into a full-fruited blast, some jamminess, and a thick mouthfeel. Soft tannins. You have to be patient with this one after opening but it definitely works itself out.

Dark Ruby, earth, bacon, & pepper. I believe NOW it is coming into it's own and enjoyed the bottle. Not a big over the top syrah but really good drinking wine. Happy that i purchased it

Enjoyed this out on the deck tonight, w/BBQ Tillamook cheeseburger, a wonderful organic salad from our garden and a hearty pasta salad. Ran this through the vinturi, and initial aromas of blackberry and muted blueberry. Medium bodied, w/a matching flavor profile of the nose. A wine which complements a meal, and will pair nicely w/BBQ, grilled meats etc. Pretty good.

(Seven Hills Winery Syrah, Walla Walla, Washington) Although Syrah has been grown in Washington state for less than 30 years, a lot of folks up there have figured this grape out. Seven Hills is one of the most consistent producers of Syrah and Merlot in the Walla Walla Valley American Viticultural Area of southeastern Washington, and this may be its best bottling yet. Chock full of blueberry, black cherry, prune, anise, bittersweet chocolate, and dark, charred wood, it's full-bodied and loaded with fruit and spice, yet not over the top. Balanced, firm tannins lead to a long finish. Try it with five-spiced-crusted pork loin or grilled lamb. Hot Picks

Very nice, well-balanced syrah. It has mellowed with age but there is no rush to drink. I wish I had several more bottles in the cellar.
