BBQ early Sep 2017: cork crumbled upon opening; wine was filtered through a metal sieve into a decanter; 15-30 minutes decanted; purple red color with brown reflexes; coffee, chocolate and plenty of raspberry and strawberry aromas/flavors; light/medium body; round and slightly sweet on the palate.
All eight BBQ participants agreed that this GPL 1967 bottle contained an excellent wine. While older and different in taste, the GPL 1967 performed on the same level like a Montrose 1998 opened just before.
Great bottle of a 50 years old great wine! (See the bottle picture.)

Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste (The Ledbury, London): A pleasant surprise, with an attractive if light earthy nose, joined by some slightly crunchy dried red fruit on the palate, a touch dilute and then firm on the finish but quite drinkable. **

5 Decades of Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste, with Richard Brazier (Handford Wines, London): Well past its time and barely a wine per se. Dies away quickly so easy on the decanting here too. The nose is Okies but the palate tells a story of an old wine. 83
