Nose of dark cherries, pomegranate, cranberries, leather, saline, granite, and graphite. This wine manages to be big and bold yet very light on it's feet and has every attribute that I love about Syrah. The wine was ready to go from the PnP. Balanced acidity with a huge mineral streak medium light tannin level but a lot of structure. Palate matches the nose and layers on a nice mild herbalness and ripe blueberries. Finish is a bit thinner than what I was expecting but holds on for 60 seconds.
Everything I was expecting from a Bill Easton Syrah is here. Excellent

Wow, black cherry bomb and tasting really good right now !! Enjoyed with friends at dinner. Perfect cork, easily removed with the Durant after two decades in the bottle. This balanced wine opened up quickly. Dark red color with no to no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of tart cherry, pomegranate, and rhubarb. Flavors of black cherry cola, raspberry framboise, and leather. This Syrah has a beautifully long finish. A balanced and flavorful Syrah from Shenandoah Valley of Amador County. I think that this age worthy wine has more years of life remaining. Fortunately, I still have one bottle of this vintage to validate my assessment. A great fruit source and another great winemaking effort by Bill Easton.

Even at 13 years old took an hour to open up. Typical new world syrah noise of Apple peel, herbs and shellac. Well balanced on the palate and nice integrated finish of plum, green apple and herbs.

Decanted for an hour. Black fruit aromas - blackberry and blueberry. Well balanced with a rich body & some chocolate and licorice on the palate. very good.

Awesome bottle of wine. Received as a gift and glad I did. On the nose the fruit was big, but there was lots of chocolate. Same on the palate. Big tannins and lots of flavor nuances in there. Wish I could list them but there were lots and it was yesterday. Long finish too. All around really balanced and well made with great complexity!
