Finished last third of this bottle previously Coravined twice.
Definite signs of oxidation, which weren't present before, at least to this extent. Not enough to make it undrinkable, but took away from the fairly subtle fruit and tertiary notes. Hmmm...the boundaries of Coravin?

Half a bottle by Coravin, with roast grouse. Sampled it beside the Bellene Cuvee du Cinquantenaire Vielles Vignes 2017. It outpunched that and stood up to the grouse etc much better.
Has really come out its shell since last tasted in 2019, when it was dumb and a bit disappointing. Quite complex mix of sweetish fruit (plum and dark cherry) and savoury, earthier notes with some spiciness too.
In a good spot for drinking now, but with some life left for a bit yet.

Wine Society - Explore Pinot Noir; 4/24/2019-4/25/2019 (Trades Hall Glasgow): Mid colour. Quite dumb on the nose, gentle, slightly sweetish on the palate but fruit lacking which is unusual for Bellene wines. I think it’s shut down, and was probably better a year or so ago and may well be in a year or two. Toby commented along the same lines later. Apparently, it had drunk really well about 4 months ago when they were putting together the list for these tastings. I have this and the 2011 at home and will leave this one for a year or so I think.

Explore Pinot Noir - Presented by Toby Morrhall - The Wine Society - Glasgow (Glasgow): Restrained. Balance of good red fruit and earth. Some barnyard. Quiet tannic. Needs more time to integrate the tannins but can see that it will be a very enjoyable drink in the future.

Still a bit young, but showing great promise. Probably much better in a year’s time.
