i carried this bottle back from burgundy in the late 90's; perfectly stored since. high toned and bright acid, but full fruit in great balance. well stored bottle have years ahead. 1996 has been a binary vintage for me, either premox or brilliant. Thankfully, it was the latter in this case.

Clean and clear straw yellow; Nail polish--reductive notes at first, with slightly sour apple and pear, biscuit notes, almost like a BdB Champagne; high acid as can be expected from Francois (and from 1996), with an elegant long finish. 92-93 Compared with 1999 Flowers Porter Bass Chard. Renee France vs. CA tasting.
