A friend's b-day tasting (Washington, D.C.): I loved this, found it fascinating, but also delicious. Cool apricot color. Smells of dried apricots, pineapple, orange peel, white tea, basil, sea salt, some musk. The palate is texturally rich but spritely, with noticeable tannin. Orange peels, candied pineapple, dried mango, the fruit is matched with complex notes of tobacco, green herbs, almond, saline, quinine, and even some olive brine elements. A really fun orange wine that I'd love to revisit in two or four years.

Bright reddish-orange color. Citrus and orange peel and some herbal and spice notes on the nose. Apple, citrus, and more spice on the palate. Just a hint of tannins, medium plus acid, light body, and a medium finish with more of the spice.

Very solid orange, with plenty of funk and confrontation, which alternates with gorgeous floral notes and the very surprising occasional strawberry flavor.

A far out, weird, polarizing wine. Cloudy and a bronze color that makes you unsure if it's spoiled or not. Nose doesn't help much either - mix of good and bad funk, turning into gummy life saver with a few hours of air. Palate starts off shrill and steely and tight, broadens and deepens and becomes more tannic. Works well with smoked salmon.

Somehow more tannic than last time? Cork saturated to within 5 mm of end. Best after 2 hours of air.
