On the nose: strawberries, oak and a touch of dried figs. On the palate, the attack is on the figs, moving on to oaky notes and a good balance of acidity and tannins on the finish. The texture throughout is creamy and flavours, though simple, are fairly persistent. Good and comforting.

Notes are sketchy on this bottle. I recall it to have been one dimensional upon opening. It did not get finished on night one as it was the least interesting thing on the table. On night 2 it was slightly improved with some coffee and spice notes making an appearance. 85 on night 1, 87 on night 2.

South American Wines (Farpointe Cellar): A heavy dose of pepper and blackberry on the nose, with espresso and cherry underneath. Smooth on the palate, the espresso and pepper are really dominate. The dark cherry on the mid-palate is ripe, and the finish is quite mineral driven.

Not a wine for ageing. The acidity is already too high but tannis are still kicking.
