At the time of tasting this bottle and the other reds had been open for around 7 hours. Third of the red wines is the 2018 1 Post. Only 230 cases made. Deep ruby red. Tons of cinnamon and vanilla on the nose with some cassis in the back. Smooth and well rounded, drinking very well with the decant time. Medium tannins (6/10) with a full body. Similar notes on the palate with a hint of bell pepper in the long finish. Drink till 2040.

Five hour slow ox. Very deep dark magenta color. Black cherry, plum, and caramel on the nose. Very smooth and very tongue drying palate. Firm, fine tannins on the longish finish.
This is too young to really judge, but the nuts and bolts of a great wine are there. The score is based on potential and will likely be even better with time and air.

Oh wow. This is incredible. The 2016 is one of my favorite wines when decanted but the 2018 takes the 2016, throws it in the back seat and grabs the wheel. This is such a restrained, elegant presentation that still has that Napa power and melds so well with a noticeablly youthful, yet silky, tannic backbone that supports this piece of poetry with perfection. It really starts to fire on all cylinders after a good dose of air. Even though it’s still relatively young as a 2018, I’m fighting the urge to open more.

Slightly bitter, astringent and backward at this point, not rating at this point
