  • Not sure how this qualifies as a white Rhone blend, since it has Sauv Blanc in it. This was pleasant enough, but nothing to write home about. Since I didn't buy it, I can't entirely account for its provenance, but it was getting old fast and had a slightly oily texture and turned a bit flat and bitter. If you open this, drink it while cold and do not let it sit overnight, even under VacuVin and refrigerated.

  • Surprisingly delicious (shouldn't have doubted from this producer). I always buy southern French whites hoping they are balanced--I think this one is. Aromatic (Viognier and Muscat) and some girth (from Marsanne?) and some freshness. Yes, a richer white, but was awesome with salmon & roasted veg. Thank you.

  • just fantastic. A dry French white that has both softness and acidity, freshness but a mineral quality that raises this above the ordinary white quaffer. Made with Rhone grapes (Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne) as well as a touch of Muscat. Pear, quince paste, and chalk. Lovely with Mediterranean cuisine.

  • Well balanced and sufficently complex dry southern French white. Paired well with chicken-lentil-veggie-mushroom summer salad. Improves with air time - recommend pouring into clean empty 20-oz soda bottle and letting sit 12 to 18 hours in the fridge. Delicious around 50 F. Attractive chaulky floral baby powder nose with hints of tropical brown spices (more nutmeg or cinnamon) ; attacks with riesling-like minerality and in the mouth has a chewy rich not too slick deep almost savory fruit (pear with notes of limey citrus and quince) with a touch of carmelized meat, tartness, and warm spices (cinnamon- or cardamom-like), all reflecting the nose; finishes with lingering spicy fruit. 13.5% abv, Body medium, acid medium. 45% Viognier, 45% Muscat, 5% Marsanne, 5% Grenche Blanc. Definitely will buy again, I like these complex blends from the Sud.
