  • Really interesting nose of borscht stew (tomato from the tempranillo with earthy root vegetable notes); over time, red currants fill in. Very smooth on the entry with lightly tart red fruit notes. Tomato and earthy notes fill in the mid palate with a nice acidic lift on the finish. Fairly well balanced although perhaps a hair light in concentration.

Very much digging the rustic notes on this wine. Can't remember the last time I smelled borscht in a wine.

  • The funky label and mishmash of varieties had me expecting something new-oaky and jammy, boy was I wrong. They've made a remarkably elegant, classically styled wine here, with minerality, complex and slightly earthy red fruits, baking spices, and a subtle bell pepper note. A very subtle, balanced, food friendly wine. Lithe, fresh, and supple. Absolutely brilliant.

  • 55/18/12/11/4 Tempranillo/Syrah/Merlot/Cabernet/Carignan. 9 months French oak. Nose of sweet bell pepper. Palette really fresh red fruit, white pepper, drinks like a light Rhone, medium acidity, medium plus finish that shows the fruit nicely, medium tannins, well structured wine. Great value buy.

  • Het grote broertje van de Llebre. Net wat meer concentratie, meer hout en wat chocoladetonen.
