  • Drinking beautifully. A rich wine , deep yellow, paired incredibly well with a rich lobster pasta. Won’t hold up too much longer. Drink if you have it!

  • opened, decanted briefly to clean out the bottle and put back in
purchased about 6 years ago from a good caviste in France and stored properly since

robe - as a friend's 10 year old daughter said " it looks like pee"
By just looking at it, I would guess that it was a mid age
sauterne by it's hue - BEAUTIFUL!

nose - This is a delight to smell. The notes coming through are all
across the spectrum ranging from a pineapple , to wet wool, a bit
note of hay and a slight touch of oxidation. SO SO GOOD!

palate - I had this wine a few years back that was from my cellar and
bought at the same time. This bottle had a a bit more freshness
compared to the slight oiliness of the last one. This bottle was
very much more enjoyable and went perfectly with with a
Chicken Tajine. The length was wonderful and the profile was on
point. I almost feel that this wine is more about it's textures and
mouth feel than the taste even though it tastes delicious.
I had commented that this wine is not for beginners. It is not an
easy drinking white wine - it is complex and rich and earthy and
    very much a learning experience.

if you have some of these, DO NOT hesitate to open one. I think that it goes well with white meat dishes, with sauces and creams and some spice too. I also think that this will coast for another few years - 2 to 3 but I actually see this at it's peak or darn close depending on how it was stored. Delicious

  • Deep golden, bronzed colour. Nutty, honeyed, mushroomy nose. Hugely thick and unctuous. Dense, rich, big. Almonds, olive oil, tiny amount of bitterness, which reins in all this opulence. Ageing with elegance. Impressive and serious but not exactly versatile - it's limited because it lacks freshness. It's almost like it's a food in its own right. Baked apple, cinnamon, creme caramel.

  • Om vit Hermitage är så här urtrist så är det verkligen inget att sukta efter.

  • This is a gorgeous intense beautifully textured wine, with sack loads of complexity and length. So why the parsimonious score? For my palate it is just a little over the hill - a little old and tired. Enough to put me off opening another bottle in preference for something younger and fresher. There will be those who like the aged elements but it is not for me.

Rich mouthfeel, mango, tangerine, Lady Gray tea. Drink now, hints of caramel oxidation showing through, along with a slight aftertaste.
