3 hour decant. Very dark. No visual signs of aging. Rich blackberry and currant aromas. Blackberry, small hints of cocoa on the palate. After another hour, some subtle coffee tastes blended with the cocoa. Seared ribeye brought out some carmelized blackberry notes—like the edge of a blackberry cobbler pan. Another hour and some more gamey and savory notes emerged. meat, savory herbs. Juicy throughout and nicely integrated tannins.
Gorgeous wine with a long road ahead. Drink or hold for 5 years (maybe more).
Popped 2 he before Christmas Eve dinner. What a fantastic bottle we truly enjoyed. Loads of Blackberry and umami flavors on secondary. Went terrific with Jeff tenderloin and all the fixings …

Wow! Just wow! After less than spectacular bottles of the 2009 and the 2010 in the past couple of years, my love for Altamura cabernets has been reaffirmed! This wine was so deep, so many vertical layers of flavor! For me, it was not a fruit bomb. It was a study in classical elegance. The wine seemed to say, "Come sit and enjoy. Take your time. Just breathe." So good!

still fruity typical calif Cab style. VG lacked complexity of a bordeux
