Christmas Day 2023. Wonderful. Plum, vanilla, wood, hint of basil on the nose. Tons of oak (as expected) on the palate. But also spicy wood, like cedar. Fruit is still present, plum, maybe some blackberry, dark cherry, some eucalyptus. Tannins are still shockingly grippy, but not overwhelming so.
This is an excellent example of what Silver Oak does with time. Wish I had more. If well cellared, this wine still has time. But that being said, it’s in its prime. Might as well drink up.

Thanks Ray for my 2011 Bday gift! Black fruit, vanilla, silky tannins, could've gone anther 3-5 years easy. I love Silver Oak AV always have, always will. It was emotional removing it from its spot. It drank wonderfully, divine in every way.
