Pop and pour. Ruby garnet color. A bit cloudy (unfiltered). Wow. Nose is popcorn. Then turning to feet, grandpa's fur lined leather slippers. After a few minutes, the feet/popcorn blows off. Bouquet now shows dried berries and a bit of earth, like peat. Has a dark fruited intro, with wonderful spice notes, black pepper, dried tangerine peel and a citrus tinged acidity. Much depth as the wine opens up with air. Shows a darker fruit side with savory earthy and spice elements. Quite enjoyable.

A bit of cloudiness to the ruby color. Tart cherry fruit that mellowed some after being open for an hour. Some sandalwood and granite on the finish that's still more than a little acidic. Perhaps restrained is the better adjective. Overall lack of complexity--just not very interesting. No real flaws either. I didn't blind taste it--shame on me--and couldn't help thinking it was half the wine of some W-S offerings that were half the price.
3/28/2020 Yeah, still not feeling the love for this. Fruit wasn't distinctive, and just not a lot of character. I'm normally a fan of restrained Pinots, but this one just doesn't do it for me.

Aromatics there from the jump, but needed some aeration to show its stuff on the palate. Warm caramel, sweet black cherry, sandalwood on the nose. Initially sour and then sweet black cherry on the palate. A little hollow and slightly metallic mid-palate, but finishes big, fleshy, round and sweet. Very, very good! Drinking really well now.

PnP. Slightly cloudy light/medium red. Intense spicy nose of red fruits, cherry and strawberry. Medium weight on the palate with an intense taste of cherries which lingers on the long finish. This isn't very complex, lacking savory notes, but it is very good.

Had at a formal dinner with 20 people. Everyone that had this wine commented about how much they liked it. For a down vintage, this wine was really shining right now.
