  In its prime !! Really tasting great right now !!
  Cork saturated about half the way up after a decade and a half in the bottle, but came out clean. Consumed over two days. This wine started a bright with great fruit and firm acidity, but was a little flabby the next day. Dark red color with little to no oxidation, and clarity medium. Aromas of black cherry, and vanilla. Flavors of cherry, raspberry, glycerin, and leather. This Syrah has a nice long finish. This age worthy wine may not have too many more years of life left. I still have one more bottle of this vintage remaining; I may open it in the next month or so to verify my rating. A great fruit source from Reeves Ranch Vineyard in the Santa Ynez foothills overlooking Los Olivos in Santa Barbara County and a good winemaking effort from Kris Curran. Pair with Charcuterie and Olive Tapenade or grilled Lamb Chops.

  Decanted 3 hours, light crimson color, showing a little age around the edges, medium nose suggesting dark fruit. However, on the attack I experienced bright, vibrant almost candied fruit, yet restrained enough not to be overwhelming. Lengthy finish with just right amount of acidity. Delicious.

  Gave a couple of hours in the decanter. Amber red in the glass. Nose of spicy warm meats, slate, pepper, perfumed berries and candied baking spiced apples. On the palate there is a mineral stone element along with a richer dark cocoa and smoothed tannin. Finishes with a bright fruit top end over good body and more minerals. PJG: 90-91
