  We decanted the wine for 45 minutes before we poured the first glass. It offered a nice nose of plum, currant, cherry, dark berries, sweet spices, vanilla, some chocolate and chilli. On the palate the wine showed chilli, dark berries, black currant, plum, raspberry, spices, vanilla, milk chocolate, chilli chocolate, coffee and some coconut, with a spicy chilli aftertaste. The medium- to full-bodied wine was balanced, with medium plus acidity, medium level tannin, a velvety mouthfeel, and with very good length.
  
  The wine was modern and international in style and showed many characteristics I tend to dislike; it did not deliver any sense of place and could well be e.g. from Italy, and was “made” in the cellar. Having said that, I admit that I liked it nonetheless. It was not overdone, drank very well and over-delivered for its price. Kudos!
