Bottle decanted for an hour. The wine still showed some tannins. It is absolutely exquisite right now with hints of smoked meat and berries. A big finish and plenty of time left to enjoy. No need to be in a rush to drink this one.

Nice balance ready now but has legs for 10 years mot. Spices that are more white pepper with good chocolate tones and smoke like mole and the light mushroom undertones. A great texture on the tongue. Great tenderloin wine

Syrah varietal is not my cup of tea. Even though a lot of people praise SQN's Syrah as some of the best, but I personally find the taste of this particular wine a bit off. Not that it was spoiled, just I don't appreciate the soy sauce flavor (almost a bit salty to the taste).

Ripe, big fruit, vanilla and milk chocolate sweetness, smooth tannins yet with enough acid to hold it together and keep it from being goopy. Would never have blinded as Syrah.
And you know what, you know what you're getting into when you're drinking this wine so why not enjoy it? Do you complain about Mickey Mouse when you're going to Disneyland?
A delicious wine that I would have any day -- but perhaps not every day.
Though I don’t think it’s a top SQN, still a great wine. Served to a few people who’ve never had the opportunity to drink a Manfred wine all thought it was spectacular.
