  • Better than the last bottle. Yes, this remains very masculine with dark fruits, tar, leather, and undergrowth, but nowhere near as dried out and tired as the last bottle. Med-long finish with bitey tannins. Great on a cold night.

  • another one of these with Fred's steak sandwiches. The food was amazing but the wine, not so much. this now tastes just old and rustic and clumsy. alcohol, tar, and bitter chocolate are the most prominent notes. this is not at all enjoyable. I assume i just missed the window here and they are in serious decline. bummer to have several more btls...

  • Over 9 years in the box. My first go with one of these. Inky dark. Like seriously inky. Dark fruits, decaying leaves, underbrush. Bitter chocolate. Tannins remain firm but there is a dominant sense of dryness. This likely would have been better a few years back. I have several more btls that I need to dispense of.
