This was drinking great. Very fresh and open and with age but still young-ish and bubbly. Very enjoyable. Drank two bottles over the weekend (one paired with caviar which is always a lovely combination).

This was a gift that I found in my fathers house, forgotten in a cool damp basement. We were really quite skeptical as to it's state. The cork was perfect even after 23 years. The color was a beautiful honey with tiny scattered bubbles. This was an incredible champagne with notes of ginger and apricot. Followed by honey, marshmallow, and lemon rind. The finish made us think we were drinking a bubbly sauterne rather than a champagne. Delicate is the best word I can use to describe this.
Seeing this has sold recently for $375 on auction does not surprise me.

WAY past it’s peak. Few bubbles left, dark color with Carmel flavor. Still drinkable as an odd sort of wine.

I think a bit past its prime. Still was a fun bottle, just a bit of prune to it.
