Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Notes from day 1, PNP, little below room temp.
Red in color with lots of bricking.
Nose of red cherry, fresh forest soil, worn leather, funk.
Palate of light red cherry, forest soil funk, and older worn leather, pepper.
The finish was short and decent acidity still left though.
The nose was really nice, but the palate was tired and faded at this point.
Not hugely suprising since it is 16 years old and from a younger site (this section of Abbey's Ridge was planted in 1990).
Cork was impecabble though, no signs of seepage.
No score, but a pleasure to try.
