  • shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. the wine has held up well despite what i assume to be less than ideal storage conditions. the wine was highly thought of upon release, garnering many accolades. a testament to the outstanding nature of the vintage, the quality of the grapes sourced and the talents of the winemaker. the wine still shows strong dark fruit both in color and on the palate as was described in its youth. no signs of oxidatioin or other deterioration. this wine is no longer available at retail. but current vintages are modestly priced. worth seeking out.

  • Amazingly good, for an $8 wine I bought 14 years ago. Color is definitely turning but there is still fruit present, tannins are completely resolved, and it went nicely with a spicy meatloaf and mashed potatoes. This validates my theory that even modest wines can age beautifully. Disclaimer - I am a fan of mature, well-aged wines, especially Cabs.

  • Very dark purple, almost black, the cork was black from the wine. Very nice nose with loads of fruit and some earthy, herbal notes, with hints of oak. Rich feel in the mouth with mouthcoating fruit. Nice lingering finish.
