<14% alcohol. Agree wholly with Ryan that this was leaner than the 1974; a more typical old Pinot, in a sense. Well-bricked in color. Mature notes mingle with surprisingly bright cherry fruit on the nose. On the palate, still vivid and packing a nice cherry note, along with soil, earth, spice, and minerals. Moderate finish. Very good example of aged Swan. A-

(Joseph Swan Vineyards Pinot Noir Northern Sonoma) From magnum - bricking dark cherry red color; mature, tart red fruit, cranberry nose; tart red fruit, cranberry, very tart cherry, sous bois palate; medium-plus finish

Much leaner, brighter, and more angular than the phenomenal '74 Swan Sonoma opened alongside it, this still is very classy and has vibrancy to spare.
