Community Tasting Notes (35) Avg Score: 90.7 points

  • This was raisiny and a little lean upon decant and initial consumption. We kept half of it in the decanter and polished it off 48 hours later and WOW, what a difference. It was still raisiny but big, lush, and much more complex with a medium finish. If drinking now-ish, I strongly suggest a long decant. 90 points initially, 92 points after 48 hours => average 91.

  • [From a 375 ml] Deep dark reddish-purple in color; no signs of aging. Full, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & dried figs with spice & earthy overtones, minerals, dark cocoa, cinnamon spice, herbs & a touch of vanilla in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, with rich & jammy, ripe fruit flavors of blackberries, dark cherries, dried figs & raisins with spices, bittersweet cocoa & minerals. Long lingering smooth finish with just a hint of heat. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & airing but will continue development with additional aging.

  • Some heat, and syrupy. Excellent, but I'd like a richer, more rounded texture. Lots of fruit.

  • Consistent with previous bottle. Jammy, spicy and sweet with dark fruit and spiced cake flavors. Balanced on the palate with a moderate finish and the alcohol has integrated. Simple but tasty and a value vintage port for drinking with cigars.

  • Delicious, lighter weight port. Color is ruby with no purple. Vanilla, spice and dark fruit on the nose. Medium sweet with nice persistence on the back end. "Pretty port" that is quite lovely - not at all heavy. Not for a cold winter night but just perfect for late fall. At the beginning of its plateau. (91)
