Celebrations on Lake Como - Georgs Night: This baby blew us away! Fruit, warm, humidor, cedar, licorice, leather, tar, some floral notes, massive tannins, this is a huge wine that needs a lot more time. Perfectly stored bottles will lage for many decades more

In a similar vein as Prestige or XL from the same vintage, this was very dry and had ever present tannin. Not too big, not in your face - this wine has certain restraint and class and is nothing like one would think of a wine that spent 6 years in barrel. However I cannot justify the price tag here. Boucasse from the 90s can be had at a half of the price and is better in my opinion.

A Blockbuster! This wine was 2000 days in oak (thats nearly 6 years!) and released to celebrate the millennium and the winery's anniversary. Drunk together with some other top notch 94's. If you are looking for a wine from this vintage either go for Port of for this one. It was still way too young. In my opinion this wine can handle the oak because of the huge tannins (@Garyvee: did you taste this one and did the oakmonster attack you?). Some of the Californian 94's were definitely over-oaked. Exhibits a lot of dark cherries and intense fruit, not smooth yet though, needs so much more time!
